ANALOGUE PRACTICES in DIGITAL LANDSCAPES
Films by Işıl Karataş
In this friendly screening, we are delighted to present two experimental films alongside a selection of music videos created by filmkoop wien member Işıl Karataş.
This programme pays tribute to the multitude of formats and methods of filmmaking, and filmkoop‘s commitment to film.
The experimental documentary ‘Analogue Practices in Digital Landscapes‘ explores the world behind the analogue scenes: workshops in the former Filmkoop space in Vienna’s 8th district, practices with the Crass Camera in LaborBerlin, and the laborious craft of mechanical camera repair in Istanbul.
‘Anarchafeminist Divinations‘ combines the experimental photochemical photographic process of chemigramms with the Anatolian practice of reading coffee cups – creating space for contemplating the future of the earth. (Film gefördert von der Stadt Wien Kultur).
This event is in cooperation with studio audio-visual research at the Department of European Ethnology, University of Vienna.
